These are web pages about my various mountain climbing trips in Scotland and in Wales.
A Munro is a mountain in Scotland that is over 3000 feet / 914 metres in height, and which has a drop of at least 250 feet all round. The list of which of Scotland`s mountains over 3000 feet are classed as Munros gets revised every few years, and currently there are 284 of them.
A Corbett is a mountain in Scotland over 2500 feet and under 3000 feet, with a clear drop of at least 500 feet all round. In metric units, these sizes are - over 762 metres and under 914 metres, with a drop of 152.4 metres all round. There are I think 220 of them, but there seems to be some variation in this, depending on where the information comes from. The Harvey`s Munro and Corbett chart lists 220.
In Wales, mountains over 3000 feet / 914 metres are known as Furths, and there are 15 of them.
In July 2006, I completed the task of climbing all 284 of Scotland`s Munros. Here are some of the more memorable climbs.
