This is a rather non-descript Corbett easily accessible from the north side of Glen Roy ( NN 296 901 ). You can extend the trip somewhat by going round the horseshoe.
However in my case, the horseshoe had to be considerably extended, as the estate was burning heather all along the SE flank of the the hill, and I had to go a long way further up the glen to get round it.
I was downwind of it going up the southern end, and it was not very pleasant. When I had started, the smoke was blowing across Glen Roy, but as I climbed, the wind was turning, and I ended up rather in the midst of it.
After coming back down into the glen, I then had to walk quite a long way back down the road to where I had parked right through the smoke again.
When one thinks about all the talk and legislation about pollution, it seems a little surprising that estates can freely burn off huge areas of heather, producing huge clouds of smoke which go for miles, but farmers are not allowed to burn off straw left on fields.
