A nice afternoon, so I went for a quick jaunt up Elidir Fach and Elidir Fawr.
The Carneddau just don`t look their best from this angle - maybe it is because you are looking right down the spine of them.
Now sometimes the Glyders look fabulous from Elidir Fawr - but today wasn`t one of these times - today they just looked completely lifeless.
However Snowdon was looking magnificent today, the angle of the sun seems to highlight all the character of the north side.
And Crib Goch was looking good as well, even in a close up.
There is an interesting optical effect - if you look closely at the cliffs below Crib Gogh, you can see a sort of layer of something lower down - I wonder if it was some sort of heat haze or temperature effect, because the lower part of the cliffs could have been sheltered from the quite cold wind, but the upper parts would be catching the wind, and so be cooler.
To end, what I think is one of the most fabulous views of Wales - looking down the coast of the Lleyn Peninsula to Yr Eifl.
Rather hazy today, but the sea had an almost luminous look to it, although it doesn`t really show in the photograph.
