A wet morning, then at lunchtime it started to clear, so I headed off for a quickie up Elidir Fawr.
It is a bit sad, but the Carneddau just don`t look very impressive from Elidir Fawr, apart from the cliffs below Yr Ole Wen.
The Glyders were looking fabulous - with excellent visibility in that direction - looking over the lovely ridge that runs from Foel-goch up to Y Garn.
Tryfan was very clear and looking good - the angle of the sunshine is highlighting an interesting looking gully up the west face - not the one below the summit, which I have used - the next one further to the left. I have no idea if it would be worth further investigation.
From Elidir Fawr, Snowdon was looking rather dour - only a wee bit of the cliffs above Llyn Du`r Arddu were catching the sun -
I was rather looking into the sun here, which has made the Eifionydd rather hazy - with Moel Hebog on the left, and the Nanttle Ridge on the right.
Last, but by no means least - this must be one of the most magical views in Snowdonia - looking right down the northwest coast of the Lleyn Peninsula to Yr Eifl and beyond. Rather hazy because of the sun, but still magical.
