The coastal path round St Donat`s isn`t one of the better bits of the coastal path - it is shut in behind a mass of trees, and for most of it there is no view and no air.
Eventually there is a sort of headland and if you leave the path and fight your way through the vegetation you do get a view - the cliffs aren`t particularily high along here so it isn`t one of the more dramatic bits of the coast but this is looking eastwards along the coast towards Llantwit Major -
Turning round and looking westwards is even less exciting -
Eventually the path drops down to close to sea level where there is a sort of bay and an awful lot of concrete - the coastal path goes right along the concrete prom so there is no problem with access.
At the far end of the concrete prom the coastal path climbs up through all the trees and then continues on to the lighthouses at Nash point - with some very wet and slimey mud along the way. And no view.
At the east end of the concrete prom there are the remains of steps down from the path - fortunately the path follows a different route down to the bay so you don`t have to negotiate these steps -
