A bit of a walk along the coastal path above some of the cliffs between Ogmore and Southerndown - the path isn`t close to the cliff edges and there aren`t too many places that you get much of a view along the coast - but there are some places.
This is looking eastwards over the top of Dunraven Bay, then along the coast past the long sloping headland of Trwyn y Witch, past the beaches of Traeth Bach and Traeth Mawr, and on to Nash Point.
The tide was well out so the beaches were all exposed - but with the huge tidal range in the Bristol Channel, at high tide the beaches are all gone and the sea is right up to the sandstone cliffs.
Below the path the ground slopes away down before dropping over the cliff edge, so at this point the cliffs aren`t the most dramatic of cliffs - and they are difficult to see from above, this was the only section that I could get a picture of -
The cliffs further to the east are much higher and far more dramatic.
Tusker Rock lies about 2 kilometres off shore from Ogmore - it is a large flat rocky outcrop that is exposed at low tide but completely covered at high tide - and has a long history of shipwrecks, with quite a few lives being lost in the various shipwrecks.
Another place along the path that provided a view to the east, so another view of the huge sandstone cliffs that extend along this part of the South Glamorgan coast - and one of the lighthouses at Nash Point is clearly visible -
