A bit of a grey day, but a trip along the Wales coastal path from Llanbadrig to Dinas Gynfor is never dull - it is one of the more stunning bits of the Wales coastal path - along the north coast of Anglesey to the most northerly headland in Anglesey - and in Wales.
Fabulous scenery - a wild and remote bit of Anglesey - and quite hard going - the path climbs up and over several headlands and away back down again - almost to sea level in places - very exposed in places - not one for the faint hearted.
This is the view looking east towards the headland - I am not sure if it is its proper name but I have always referred to it as Dinas Gynfor - there is an iron age fort somewhere along there that I think has the same name.
Middle Mouse catching a wee shaft of sunshine - by the end of the summer the rocks will be totally white from all the birdie poo -
Looking down on the remains of the porcelain factory before dropping down almost to sea level at Porth Llanlleiana before the long and steep climb up to Dinas Gynfor -
Up on Dinas Gynfor and looking away to the west along the coast back towards the starting point at Llanbadrig -
Not much of a view to the east today, it was too murky, but on a good day you can see as far as Point Lynas.
A closer view of Dinas Gynfor - and a better view of the tower on Dinas Gynfor - according to Google maps it is called Coronation Tower - King Edward VII - didn`t know it had a name but Google seems to know.
Sad to say it is in a bit of a state now - still standing, but a bit of a ruin now.
Also down at sea level below Dinas Gynfor there is a rock - I have never been able to work out if this rock is actually the most northerly bit of Wales - I am not sure if it is the actual headland or this rock that is the more northerly bit of Wales.
I have sat beside it in a sea kayak a few times and watched the very fast tidal current that sweeps past Dinas Gynfor at some points in a big ebb tide - it is an amazing sight -
