A very good sunrise this morning - it started out as just a quite narrow band of colour over the top of the hill -
But then it started to expand upwards, lighting up the underside of the dark cloud layer -
And it continued to expand upwards for quite a while, as well as expanding outwards as well - the camera is only capturing the centre of the display, the display was by now way too wide for even the widest setting on the lens, lighting up the underside of the dark cloud layer.
It was a surprisingly long sunrise, this was it at about the most intense point in its colours - but then it died very quickly - but a super display for a good length of time -
The old saying that "a red sky in the morning is the shepherd`s warning" certainly applied today - within a few hours the rain had started, and it went on all day.
