Beautiful evening lighting today -
Down the road a bit for a different viewpoint -
Further down the road there is a patch of wild garlic - the leaves and flowers have been there for the last couple of weeks, but there has never ever been any of that classic wild garlic smell - this evening the smell was there for the first time - magic.
It is a bit of a shame, this is the only patch of wild garlic that I know about in the whole area, but it is right beside the road, and I don`t like the idea of eating plants that have been splashed by passing traffic and catching all the exhaust fumes - a real shame, because wild garlic is really good.
The other thing that was sad to see was how few foxgloves there are down that bit of road, I only saw four.
It is quite noticeable how few wild flowers there are along the roadside verges in this part of the country - lots of green, but surprisingly few wild flowers compared to Anglesey for example, where the verges are a riot of colour at this time of year.
