An afternoon trip across to Luing during another day of the amazing February weather - waiting to board the ferry, looking across Cuan Sound to the northern end of Luing -
Up the hill, down the hill, and heading round for Cullipool, and looking out from the west coast of Luing over the northern end of the Sound of Luing to Dubh Sgeir in the foreground, with the flat outline of what I think is Ormsa behind it, in the middle distance is Eilean Dubh Beag and Eilean Dubh Môr, and away at the back the southern end of the Garvellachs -
Round a bit to the right, and looking out to Fladda on the left with the lighthouse, and Belnahua on the right - away at the back is the northern end of the Garvellachs.
It`s a rather deceptive picture, because there is a significant channel between Fladda and Belnahua which has some very fast tidal currents through it - some of the fastest currents in the UK -
Up towards the northern end of Luing, looking across towards Easdale and Seil, with Insh Island away at the back -
A different view of Belnahua and the Garvellachs - you are looking down the whole length of the Garvellachs in this picture, pity it is so hazy -
Back at the slipway waiting for the ferry back to Cuan, looking across to Ellenabeich and the very distinctive shape of Dun Mor behind it.
Away at the back is the long line of humps that make up Insh Island, and a very calm looking Cuan Sound on the right of the picture -
