The high pressure brought a colder day with a northwest wind, and cloud that came and went - at times I had to wait for the sun to sun to shine on the bit of the landscape that I wanted to photograph - but sometimes it was worth the wait, a classic view across to South Stack lighthouse -
Some nice lighting out to sea -
Looking along the hidden passage - this would have been around a mid tide level, at high tide levels those boulders are covered, and you can paddle right through the passage - you don`t really get any sense from the photograph as to just how high the stacks and the cliffs are -
The three huge stacks that form the outer wall of the hidden passage -
Another good lighting effect out to sea -
Heading further round the coast, and the last place from where you can see South Stack, with a shaft of sunlight lighting it up nicely -
Further along the coast again, and looking out at another lighting effect out over the top of Penrhyn Mawr as it heads down towards low tide -
Round in the other direction, and a shaft of sunlight highlights the incredible rock sculpting in Dinas Stack -
Starting to head down toward sunset now, and another good lighting effect over Penrhyn Mawr -
The sun has now dropped down behind the big bank of cloud, and this was as near to a sunset as we were going to get -
Except it wasn`t - a while later, and the sun suddenly appeared through the cloud just above the horizon - what a magic effect -
