A super day, that produced some rather good lighting effects - starting with the early morning sunshine lighting up the east side of the lighthouse on Lady Isle - the lighthouse on Lady Isle is rather unusual in that the staircase up to the light is a spiral staircase outside the lighthouse building.
Google produces some web pages that claim that Lady Isle is a bird sanctuary and privately owned, and landing on it is not allowed without permission - I wonder how that fits in with the access legislation that exists in Scotland.
Later on, and the still low angle of the sun is highlighting some of the features of the mountains on Arran -
Later in the day, and quite a lot of cloud created some super lighting effects - down to the south, with Ailsa Craig just visible -
Some rather dark clouds over the south end of Arran -
More super lighting in the evening, looking out towards Arran -
And still it went on, the mountains on Arran nicely silhouetted against the brighter patch of sky below the dark clouds -
Just about the end of a most amazing day for October -
