What an amazing change in the weather we had today - after a freezing cold night and a freezing cold morning, suddenly the afternoon warmed up and it was beautiful for a few hours.
A completely deserted Aberffraw beach -
Time for a swim, then a climb up the rocks and along the coast a bit, to catch a good view across to the mountains on the Lleyn Peninsula -
A few hours later and just before the sunset, and the low angle of sun was lighting up the Nantlle Ridge rather nicely.
Pity about the big block of houses right in the middle of the picture - they are right at the back of Porth Nobla, and they spoil the atmosphere of what is otherwise a nice little beach -
The temperature was fairly dropping by now, it is going to be another cold night - but a good sunset to end the day -
Looks like the weather today was just a one day wonder, the intense high pressure that brought it is moving away to the east a bit, and there are some tight isobars close behind, so more wind is on the way.
Not sure what has happened to the so-called Indian summer we are supposed to be having, seems more like a traditional British autumn to me.
