An evening walk over the line of hills to the north of Ganavan on a beautiful summer evening - looking away down the coast of Mull past Loch Spelve to the big peninsula that I don`t think even has a name, it certainly should, it is a very distinctive part of the Mull coastline -
Looking across to the mountains on the northeast corner of Mull -
Looking away up to the two Corbetts on Kingairloch -
Looking away up to the end of that bit of the coastline and into the trees, and you can just see the turret of Dunstaffnage Castle poking up above the trees -
Round to the right a bit and a wider view across the outer end of Loch Etive, past those houses with the awful metal roofs, the marina, Connel Bridge, and Ben Cruachan over on the right -
A closer view of Connel Bridge - it looks so spindly in this picture, but when you are up on it you see just how massive those steel beams are -
A closer view of Ben Cruachan - good to see it in all its glory, it spends so much of its life in the clouds -
Heading back across the hill tops now, and a last look across the Firth of Lorne to Mull - the Firth of Lorne has the most amazing scenery, if you can put up with the weather.
In most of the country if it starts raining first thing Monday morning, it stops by Monday tea-time.
In the Firth of Lorne if it starts raining first thing Monday morning, it stops on Thursday.
But when it is like this - it is fabulous -
