A few more pictures of the Swansea Bay area, taken a few days ago on a rather grey day - looking across to Mumbles lighthouse which is fairly cut-off by a high tide -
Looking down on Mumbles pier with the old lifeboat station with its red tiled roof, and the newest lifeboat station out at the end of the pier - I think it was purpose built for the Tamar class lifeboat -
Along the cycle track a bit, and a rather grey but otherwise good view of the sweep of Swansea Bay away round past the Marine Quarter and Port Talbot -
It is nice to see that there is now a bit more publicity about the Swansea Bay City Deal, with loads of tweets ( @SBCityDeal and #SBCityDeal ) and a good article on WalesOnline about some of the benefits that the Swansea Bay City Deal will bring to the region.
I don`t claim to be any kind of an economist, but it seems to me that with the whole of the £1.3 billion cash from the Swansea Bay City Deal coming into the area and providing long term developments in the area, that this Swansea Bay City Deal is a much better deal for the area than the much smaller amount of short term money that would come into the area from the construction of some kind of lagoon - and the main long term beneficiary of that money would be that lagoon, there would be not be much long term benefit to the region.
And good to see that Neath Port Talbot Council has now signed up to the Swansea Bay City Deal.
The Swansea Bay City Deal is here, it`s live, and it`s on a roll !
