The weather today was in a state of suspended animation, after the strong northeast wind of the previous day or two, and before the forecasted much wilder weather tomorrow.
There was a big area of high pressure out to the west, and another one out to the east - away up to the north there was a low pressure, and another one away to the south.
So Britain was sitting in this sort of no-man`s land, not a drop of wind, a big sheet of high altitude cloud over the whole country - cold, dry and still - and that was it - a bit odd really.
In the late afternoon it brought some amazing visibility - the snow covered Snowdon was fairly standing out against the big sheet of cloud -
Down on the coast, and Ynysoedd Gwylanod was fairly standing out - and somewhat unusually, you can also see one of the islands along by Rhoscolyn Head -
Even more unusual, there was a strange mirage effect in which the far end of the Lleyn Peninsula and Bardsey Island were floating above the horizon - I am quite surprised that the photo came out, I didn`t really expect it to -
