After a lot of overnight rain, and a few horrendous showers during the early part of the day, the weather dried up a bit in the late afternoon, so I went back to the Limeslade bay to Langland Bay section of the coastal path to see if we would get a good sunset.
But I then made a big mistake, because I decided I would get a better view of any sunset from the hill top path.
First of all, after all the rain, the climb up out of Limeslade Bay was lethal, it was incredibly slippy, my feet couldn`t get a grip, my sticks were sliding all over the place, and it was a very slow ascent.
And secondly I found that I was totally hidden from the sun by the hillside, so didn`t see anything until I was almost up on the first summit, so I missed a lot of good lighting in the sky.
This was the first time I could see anything -
Up on the summit now, and some nice lighting along the south coast of Gower -
Heading across to the second summit, and there was another good spell of lighting, with a one of the shafts seemingly lighting up Oxwich Point.
There was no way I was going back over the hilltop path, I had a much easier return along the official coastal path.
