A super afternoon spent beside the sea - starting off right along at the north end of Malltraeth Bay - it was low tide, so I could get right out until I was looking across to Dinas-lwyd.
Nobody around - time for the first skinny dipping swim of the day. Superb !
Heading back along the beach, and looking back towards Dinas-lwyd -
A closer view of the headland Pen-y-parc - it looks quite chunky and worth a visit, if I could work out how to get to it.
Turning round, and what an amazing view - Llanddwyn Island at the other end of the beach, with the fabulous backdrop of the mountains on the Lleyn Peninsula - and a big bank of fog sitting over the sea.
A closer view of Yr Eifl - you really can`t ask for anything better -
Over the top of the isthmus between Llanddwyn Island and the mainland, and looking away along Newborough beach towards Abermenai Point, with the clouds hiding both the top and the bottom of Moel Elio in the background.
Part of the way along Newborough beach, and a great view past the fog to the summits of the mountains on the Lleyn Peninsula.
Along by Abermenai Point now - except I wasn`t.
I thought I had got to Abermenai Point, the coast curved away round further on, so it appeared that I was at Abermenai Point.
However when I got home I was looking at the photographs, and looking at a map, and I found that I hadn`t actually got to Abermenai Point, I was quite a distance away from it.
Oh dear - never mind, it will still be there another day, and it is a good excuse to go back there.
So this is looking mostly east towards the real Abermenai Point, with Moel Elio and the Carneddau away at the back.
Round a bit to the right, and the Nantlle Ridge was looking good as well -
Away to the south past the beach opposite South Sands, and the tops of the mountains on the Lleyn Peninsula peaking over the fog.
Well wherever I was, I was the only one there - so time for another swim.
Then time for a tea break.
And it was so nice I had another swim.
Heading back towards Llanddwyn Island and Newborough forest, and a view along the beach.
I see that Rhossili beach in Gower has been listed as the top beach in Europe, and in the top ten beaches in the world.
I think I will nominate this as number eleven.
And so back to Llanddwyn Island and over the isthmus and back onto the beach of Malltraeth Bay - and it was absolutely deserted, not another person to be seen.
Time for swim number four.
I do wish that Anglesey Council would allocate some part of either Malltraeth Bay or Newborough beach as clothing optional - although it isn`t in itself a crime to go skinny dipping, it is a sort of grey area - it would be so nice to be able to do it without looking over your shoulder all the time.
There are some 7 kilometres of beach between Malltraeth Bay and Abermenai Point - surely some part of it could be allocated as a clothing optional area.
There is money in it - go and visit Morfa Dyffryn on a good day and see how many people are there - that`s people coming into the area.
Anglesey wants - needs - tourists, and at present there is nowhere in Anglesey that can provide the sort of facility that many people want - so they go elsewhere.
The facility is already there - no capital cost of setting it up - no maintenance costs - just tick a box and the job`s done. More tourists !
I live in hope.
Time to head away, but not without another picture or two -
And if this isn`t magic, I don`t know what is.
