I have often cycled past the sign, and even read it, but I haven`t ever stopped to go see what Tŷ-Newydd is.
So today I did.
A walk up the side of the field, and here it is - somewhat modified from its original form - a very badly done restoration - a somewhat sad remains of what would have been a much larger construction.
It is amazing to think how these early civilisations managed to move the huge stones that they liked to use as cap stones.
Interesting to note that the sign has Tŷ-Newydd spelt with a hyphen, however few of the web pages that I found spelt it with a hyphen. But many of them don`t even bother with the circumflex on the first y, which is a bit sloppy.
