20 June 2017 .............. Newborough Forest and Malltraeth Bay

Had a good trip down through Newborough Forest to Malltraeth Bay - somewhere down the track through the forest and a big bank of broom was fairly shining out - though actually I think it was past its best, it would have been better a week ago.

Down on the beach on Malltraeth Bay, and a very clear view across to the headland Pen-y-parc - when you are on the beach and it is a very low tide, it looks as if you can walk right across to Dinas-lwyd, but you can`t as the Afon Cefni never dries out and so there is this deep channel right over on the far side.

It is a shame, as I don`t think there is any kind of public access over there, certainly the coastal path doesn`t go anywhere near it, the path goes away inland.

Round in the other direction, and it really doesn`t get much better than this - looking over to Llanddwyn Island, with the fabulous backdrop of the Lleyn Peninsula behind it.

Or if you prefer, Yr Eifl looking fantastic as usual.
