A beautiful day for a change, and come the evening I reckoned I would go and visit the Stacks to see if there was a good sunset.
There wasn`t - and just to add to my misery, by the time I got there, the sun had gone, the cloud had returned, and it started back into drizzly rain.
However I was there, so I headed out for a walk, and up above South Stack looking down on the lighthouse - South Stack really doesn`t look its best from above, but it fairly shows off what a wild location it is.
I reckon that the best view of South Stack is actually from North Stack, looking along the cliffs of Gogarth Bay.
I am not sure if I have seen South Stack at high tide before, it seems to emphasise the ruggedness of the cliffs and caves.
Heading round the top of the cliffs of Gogarth Bay now, and looking along the cliffs to North Stack away across the bay.
On another part of the path, and a closer view of North Stack, looking straight into Parliament House cave - you can also just see the cave with the upstairs window, and the big arch which I think is called Annie`s Arch.
Away behind North Stack you can also see the Skerries.
