Well sad to say the deep freeze is back with a vengence. After a period of about 18 hours of milder weather, the temperature is away back down. Brrrr!
However it was nice and sunny, so I thought I would go off and find a track to cycle up, a track that wasn`t in the shade, and wasn`t up above the snow and ice line.
So I went to Glen Artney - perhaps it was a mistake - I didn`t get much sunshine, the track was steep and rough and so it was back to pushing again, and there were sheets of ice across it.
So not the best afternoon out.
However I did get to a point at the top of a hill where I had some quite good views of the sun about to drop down below the horizon.
Here it is just a wee bit before the sunset -
The low angle of sun was producing some nice lighting on the hills - this is a magic view of Ben Vorlich and Stùc a` Chroin, with the sun just catching bits of the summits, and the dead grass on the slopes in the foreground beautifully lit up in an orange glow.
Round in the opposite direction, the sun was just catching some of the hills down the south side of Glen Artney.
It is a bit later on, and I have moved across to another hill, and a wider view of Ben Vorlich and Stùc a` Chroin, with the same orangey colouring to the grass.
By now the sun is heading down for the night -
The very last bit of the sun - goodnight sun - maybe we will see you tomorrow.
