A few pictures taken in the evening from the breakwater beside Ayr harbour - the breakwater provides a good view point for looking out in most directions - looking back into Ayr and the beach that runs south from the river Ayr.
Round to the right, and you look across to the Heads of Ayr, and also to Ailsa Craig away in the distance.
Actually, you can`t see it from the picture, but I think you are seeing more than the cliffs of the Heads of Ayr, because if you look at a map, the most sticky-out bit of the coast is the cliffs that are further down the coast between the Heads of Ayr and Dunure - the other side of Bracken Bay from the Heads of Ayr.
Away in the distance, past the south end of Arran - you can just see the Mull of Kintyre.
If you look out to sea from Ayr you can`t really avoid it - looking along the pier across to Arran.
