After a superb day, some beautiful evening lighting and another amazing sunset.
Ardrossan harbour is a superb place to look out over the sea to Arran, and up the coast; it is also a good place to watch the Cal Mac ferries coming and going - the MV Isle of Arran heading out.
A different view looking out through the harbour -
The next ferry coming in - the MV Caledonian Isles.
The mountains on Arran in silhouette against the evening sky -
The views are too wide to capture in one picture - so here is a pair of pictures as the sun begins to drop down.
Now at this point I had to head away, as I had cycled up from Ardeer, so had to start to wend my back down the coast.
However Saltcoats has a couple of good viewpoints as well, so a couple of pictures from there, looking up the coast towards Ardrossan.
Perhaps I should have stayed longer in Saltcoats to watch the sun setting, because by the time I got back to Ardeer it was well gone.
However it turned out that it wasn`t a disaster, because the sunset went on to produce some amazing colouring that just went on and on. So here is a series of pictures as it evolved, and then slowly died.
Fabulous !
