Whilst the southern half of Britain was enjoying all that rain, poor old Scotland had to endure a day of blue skies and sunshine. It was a beautiful evening, and out on my bike, after climbing a long hill, I got to a high point with a good view across to Stùc a` Chroin and Ben Vorlich showing up nicely against the light sky.
Then I realised that over to the right I could just see another mountain lit up by the evening sunshine - I am pretty certain that it is Ben More - I am not surprised to see it, as you can see it quite easily from the mountains above Loch Turret, but I don`t think I have ever seen it from low down before.
Later on, and I am away down the hill, and I got another very good view across to Stùc a` Chroin and Ben Vorlich - I wonder if there was some kind of atmospheric refraction going on, as I seem to be able to see more of Stùc a` Chroin and Ben Vorlich than when I was up the hill.
Half an hour after I got back we had quite a colourful sunset again - but like the day before, it was very short. The sort of near vertical shaft / shadow right down at the bottom of the picture is a bit unusual and rather fun.
