I went for a walk up to McCaig`s Folly, and on the way up I got a good view of a Cal Mac ferry heading out of Oban Bay, I think it was the Clansman - so I stopped and took a picture - as any self-respecting tourist does.
I had just got going again and I heard the very loud characteristic sound of a Cal Mac ferry horn blasting out at whatever tiny boat had dared to get in its way.
It was a small fishing boat, and they were on a collision course.
Well that fishing boat wasn`t getting out of the way of any big bully Cal Mac ferry, it just kept going and didn`t appear to change course one iota !
Have you ever seen a Cal Mac ferry do an emergency stop - it`s impressive.
The fishing boat just kept on going, and the Cal Mac ferry sat there stunned.
Later on, and I am up on the viewing platform outside McCaig`s Folly - and there is a great view right out through the Sound of Mull - although it was a bit of grey day.
A long focus view of the Clansman as it heads towards the lighthouse on Eilean Musdile.
