Strange weather today - all through the day it was quite good weather - shorts and tee-shirt weather in fact.
Then at tea time we had a thunderstorm - the rain wasn`t that heavy, but the thunder boomed on for quite a long time.
Then in the evening it cleared up, and provided very good visibility and a good sunset which lasted a long time. This was the beginning of it, looking out across Swansea Bay.
The very good visibilty showed up the coastline of the Gower peninsula in relief rather well. It isn`t a monochrome picture although it looks like it - that was just the natural lighting.
I have been trying for ages to work out what we are seeing when you look across to the Gower Peninsula from here, and even with the headlands showing so well I still can`t work it out.
Now the sunset has well started, taken from different places along the coast.
Then once the sun had tucked itself down for the night, there was quite a long period of time when there was some quite intense red in the clouds, over quite a wide angle.
This is quite a bit round to the left, and Devon has just sneaked into the picture.
More red clouds round to the right.
