A beautiful cold and clear morning with superb visibility from Ganavan across to the snow capped mountains on Mull.
After I had taken this picture, I turned round and found that I was right beside a large sign about the Argyll sea kayak trail - I didn`t know it existed - I`ve been away from Scotland for too long.
Actually it is a double sided sign, the other side has a sign about the section of the sea kayak trail from Ganavan to Ellenabeich.
Looks good, and there is more information on the website at www.paddleargyll.org.uk
It is a pity that Argyll and Bute Council don`t seem to be too committed to actually making Ganavan a place that kayakers will want to use despite having their logo on the sign, with proposed parking charges of £1 per hour, and plans to lease off the toilets and some extra land to commercial developers.
And proposed parking charges of £1 per hour at the big car park beside Atlantis means that there will be virtually nowhere around Oban to park for more than a day.
Seems to be a pretty good way to kill both Atlantis and the wider tourism industry around Oban.
