Some of the mountains in Wales - and even some whole mountain ranges - are quite hard to get a view of - Cadair Idris is one of them, particularily from the north. There are just a few big enough gaps in the trees that allow you to see them.
However I had a very good view of them from the south, and they were looking good. It would have been nice to have had a trip up them, but it was just too late in the day.
Another mountain range that is a bit shy is the Arans - a small range that lie a few kilometres to the northwest of Cadair Idris - the highest peak is Aran Fawddwy, and at 905 metres it just misses being a furth.
Again, quite a good view from the south.
