A very low tide at Foel exposed a lot more of a sandbank than you normally see - the old pier was high and dry.
The top of the sandbar was a good metre above the water level, and the tide was still going out.

The sun had long gone by now, and it was getting dark, but still a good view of Bwlch Mawr and Yr Eifl away down the Lleyn Peninsula.
It wasn`t really a spectacular sunset, but long after the sun had dropped below the horizon an isolated cloud picked up the most amazing red colour.
