12 August 2015 .............. A surprisingly long sunset

Summer arrived today - blue sky and sunshine all day, and by the evening there wasn`t a cloud to be seen.

So it didn`t seem likely there would be any kind of a colourful sunset - just a bit of colour as the sun was dropping down below the horizon.

After it was gone, there was just this sort of afterglow just above the horizon, which slowly faded away over the next ten minutes or so.

And that was it over - but when I looked up, I found that some very high altitude clouds had drifted overhead, and were getting lit up by the sun - so they were quite colourful, and this went on for another twenty minutes or so, before they too lost their colour.

So all in all the "sunset" went on for half an hour - which is quite a long time.
