Back for another visit to the Falls of Lora, and the same predicted tide height of 3.8 metres at Oban.
The weather was exceptionally good, and the view out from Connel was fabulous, looking out across the two islands at the mouth of Loch Etive - Eilean Beag and Eilean Mòr - and across to the mountains at the south end of Kingairloch and to Dùn da Ghaoithe on Mull.
It was good to see that even Ben Cruachan had emerged from the cloud, and the mountains away to the east were looking good.
It was clear enough that you could even study the rocks on Ben Cruachan.
There wasn`t anything to be had out in the middle, but the wave beside the north pier was magic - easy to slide on to, easy to surf - it would have been perfect, but the sun was a major problem, as when you are sitting on the wave you are looking straight into the sun, and the sun is reflecting off the water as well, so it is blinding, and quite painful after just a minute or so.
You just can`t sit on the wave for any length of time, you have to get off and into the shade, so a bit dissappointing from that point of view.
Once I was off the water, the sun was heading down and producing some lovely lighting effects over Mull and Kingairloch.
A fleet of ducks were out enjoying an evening paddle -
Later on, and more good lighting.
