21 June 2016 ............ Falls of Lora

A second evening on the Falls of Lora, and the same predicted tide height of 3.8 metres at Oban.

The wave was very similar to the previous evening, but the water wasn`t flowing just as fast with less turbulence coming down, so the surfing was a bit better - very easy to slide onto the wave, and more of the longer surfs than the previous night.

However just like the previous evening, there wan`t much of a wave out in the middle, so nothing out there.

One of the highlights of the evening was an otter that put on a show for me - it appeared on the rocks just up from the wave, slid into the water and swam down the rapid, then popped up with a fish in its mouth. It chomped it down, then dissappeared.

Then it popped up again with another fish - chomped that down, and dissappeared again.

Then it popped up for a third time with another fish - chomped that down, and dissappeared again - and that was the last time I saw it.

Everytime it popped up, it stared straight at me as it chomped down the fish - it was almost as if it was doing it deliberately.

I tried each time to take a picture of it, but only got one - it is not a good picture, but here it is anyway. I don`t think I am going to give up the day job to become a wildlife photographer.
