03 June 2016 ............ Falls of Lora

Another beautiful evening, and this time with a high tide height at Oban of 3.7 metres - and the surfing was excellent.

A lovely wave behind the north pier, and I guess I had a good half hour on it - not all in one go of course, but I did get some good long surfs.

This is the wave when it was just about at the end, so it is flattening out - it was deeper earlier on.

I was well pleased that my boat worked so well on it - I did have fears that it would be a bit too long for this wave, but it was fine, and I was quite surprised how flat the wave was before I could no longer surf it.

I didn`t do too well out in the middle - I couldn`t catch the first wave, or the second wave, but I got a ride on the third wave - not for long, it was a fairly messy wave, but long enough for not one but two whoopees. I wonder if anyone heard me !

Just like the previous evening, the views were good - this is looking east again from well into Loch Etive beyond all the turbulance of the falls, and a better view of Ben Cruachan.

Looking westwards through the bridge, with some lovely diffused lighting - the mountains at the back are the block of mountains at the north east corner of Mull - the highest one is Dun da Ghaoithe, and at 766 metres it just makes it as a Corbett, the only Corbett on Mull.
