Back to the Swellies again - I wasn`t sure if it was going to be worthwhile, as there wouldn`t be all that much time between the wave starting, and it getting dark.
However it turned out to be another most excellent surfing session - the wave started early, it was just starting as I got there, so it was straight out and started surfing.
And it just went on and on - the wave came and went a wee bit, and occasionally I had to sprint back upstream because I was about to lose it, however it was some good surfing, with a few paddle twirls thrown in as well.
However it came to an end when a large swirlie came right through the wave, and pushed me off.
And despite my best efforts, I couldn`t get back on - so I headed up to the seaweed, had a quick drink, and thought - I`ll just photograph the sunset instead - it wasn`t maybe the most colourful of sunsets, but nice to see all the same.
Then headed off to have another shot at getting onto the wave - and this time I succeeded and had another 15 minutes or so of surfing.
Looking at the time when I took the picture, I had had about 30-35 minutes of surfing before I lost the wave - so a good 45-50 minutes of quality surfing - definitely worth the trip.
