16 September 2012 .............. Down by Cuan and Luing

On this day it appears that I went for a trip out from Cuan, and down the coast of Luing.

For some unknown reason I never did a blog about it, some four years later I found a folder with lots of pictures in it, and there are some quite good ones.

So four years after the event, here is a blog about it - now of course I can`t remember what I did, but I can get a sort of idea from the photos.

From the date, and from the metadata of the original images, I can say with certainty that all the pictures were taken with my Fuji Finepix camera, which isn`t a waterproof camera - so none of the pictures would have been taken from my boat, they would all have been taken from somewhere on land somewhere above a landing place.

It seems to have been a beautiful day - at least to start with - and a cracking view acoss the Firth of Lorne to the coast of Mull.

It looks as if it must have been Springs, because there is a strong tidal current out there.

I think I must have been down the coast of Luing now, with a good view down to Belnahua nicely silhouetted.

I must have been quite far down, because you can see several of the various islands that form the Garvellachs.

It also looks like some heavier weather is coming over.

Still looks like good weather away towards Easdale and Insh Island.

I have possibly come back up the coast of Luing now, and a somewhat different view looking down the Firth of Lorne, with some rather good lighting.

I am not sure at this point if I have crossed back over Cuan Sound, it is obviously a fair bit of time later as a massive storm is approaching over from the west, but we still have the superb lighting over the rest of the view.

Wow - look at that storm away up beyong Easdale - somewhere was getting very wet.

 the massive storm beyond Easdale

It looks like the storm to the south is passing away to the south of the Garvellachs, but still super lighting.

I think I must be somewhere up a hill up above Cuan now, that looks like Cuan Sound in the foreground, with the rain just out from the Garvellachs.

The Firth of Lorne spends much of its time as a grey, wet, wind blasted place - but when you get conditions like this nowhere else comes close. I love the lighting in these pictures, I am glad I found them.
